Bryce Canyon
National Park
"Bryce Canyon National Park is named for one of a series of horseshoe-shaped
amphitheaters carved from the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau in
southern Utah. Erosion has shaped colorful Claron limestones, sandstones
and mudstones into thousands of spires, fins, pinnacles and mazes. Collectively
called "hoodoos," these unique formations are whimsically arranged and
tinted with colors too numerous and subtle to name." From
the National
Park Service web site.
The photos in this gallery were taken with my digital camera during
a vacation in late-summer 2001. They
are available in thumbnail format at my Yahoo
Photo Gallery: Bryce Canyon. If you would like to see the high
resolution version of any of these photos, send
me an email and I will email back the hi-res photo. The photos
are copyrighted, so please ask before you use them. This gallery
is best viewed when you set your display to 24 bit color or better.
Enjoy!
